Study Plan

Master's Application

There are currently no local admission restrictions for the two-subject master's program; however, according to the examination regulations, subject-specific admission requirements must be met. In order to be able to review these, registration for the master's program is necessary at the Faculty of Social Science. Registration for the winter semester is possible until September 1 and for the summer semester until March 1.

For the registration the following documents are needed from us:

  • Registration form
  • Bachelor's Degree Certificate (if already available)
  • Transcript of Records with indication of credit points and (preliminary) overall grade
  • Proof of other social science university courses or modules

The documents can be sent either by e-mail to the general master's degree counseling at masterberatung@sowi.rub.de or by mail to the examination office of the Faculty of Social Science. After the documents have been received, you will get a confirmation e-mail and will be invited to the obligatory consultation by the advisor. Afterwards you will receive a certificate of the consultation. Before enrollment or transfer (RUB students) to the two-subject master's program, you must present this certificate together with a copy of your bachelor's degree certificate to the examination office of the Faculty of Social Science and get it confirmed. If you have received admission for your second subject, you can enroll or transfer to the two-subject master's program by the corresponding deadlines of the registrar's office.
